A chronological survey of Witchcraft in early modern Britain, the work covers witchcraft under the reigns of various monarchs including Elizabeth I, James I, and Charles I, the witchfinder generals, the literature of witchcraft, notable cases under the rule of James I, the Lancashire witches, and the gradual decline of withcraft in Britain. The author published this book whilst working at the University of Minnesota.
